Christian Fellowship Worship Center www.cfwcbmt.org was our church of the week, here in Beaumont. We were made to feel very welcome and were so glad we had chosen this particular group to worship with. If we ever come through this area again, we'd like to return. Great experience.

Since we had heard of Port Arthur near here, we drove over there to see what it was all about. We arrived at The Museum of the Gulf Coast www.museumofthegulfcoast.org which was located in a deserted area of Port Arthur...not just run down...but blocks of tall building skeletons. Evidently it had once been a thriving harbor town. It had been a gambling center, which was overcome by extreme vice (which caused a major police clamp down) ...add to that racial social issues and economic shifts...just a very sad story! ...and the museum...maybe a C+.

Kind of turned off by the look of things at that end of Port Arthur, we didn't stay long enough to locate the more prosperous side of the city. Storms were gathering and we plan on leaving early in the morning. Along the way home we spotted a Schlotzsky's  www.schlotzsky's.com  and enjoyed a meal there. This chain is part of our daughter, Heather's, company and we had neither seen one or eaten there before, so that proved to be a fun and tasty experience...I would recommend their Chicken Tortilla Soup...so spicy and good.

Tommorrow....we hope to reach San Antonio!
