Sunday Morning:
Palm Springs/CA:
Church:
They actually have an established nondenominational church on grounds at Celiente RV Park. The pastor was a past missionary to Guam and the service was focused on Palm Sunday. There was communion...which we often encounter as we travel. A very loving and inclusive group...the group's love of Jesus was obvious throughout the whole service.
Sunday Afternoon:
Palm Desert/CA
Day Trip/Art Museum of Palm Desert:
Although the name of the museum didn't indicate this, it was a "sculpture only" exhibit. After I paid admittance, I realized this. It was (as the one in Beaumont, TX) a very small museum. Nevertheless, it was excellent. It seemed to me that the pieces were thoughtfully chosen and played off each other well. I posted a few photos below to show the variety of art. There was a sculpture garden in the back and two roadrunners seemed to have "taken posession" of the place and acted as unofficial greeters at the entrance. Another trait of the Southwest I've noticed is what I call "city art"...I don't know what the real term would be. Maybe this is a national trait...I don't recall? On a street corner, now and then, you find a piece of sculpture which enriches your drive. photo below
Westfield Mall:
We spent an hour or so at the mall and then headed back to the RV. What a beautiful drive past some of those huge wind turbins right at the edge of the road with a backdrop of unique mountainous terrain! I didn't even try to get photographs....can't do it justice. Dramatic! Nothing taken for granted.
