Drive to Oceanside Beach/Oceanside, Washington
This afternoon we turned north out our RV Park and took off...ad lib...for the ocean, and found a delightful beach on the edge of the town of Oceanside (plus a few more towns probably...they still string together along the shore, it seems).
We were happy to see it was another 'drive on beach' only this one was really deep...about a half mile deep. The further south we drove...the more cars we saw on the beach. Stan figures we drove about five miles down the coast that way. We encountered kids climbing the cliffs and trying to keep their footing as they 'ran' down again. Down further, they were flying kites and children were animated...energized at being near the water even if the water was too cold to swim in....and playing in the sand. Then we ran past groups of people on horseback as well as all kinds of buggies...bikes....motorcycles...and so on....everybody and their cousin were out in the nice warm sun having a great day.
We pulled into a McDs for an ice cream cone and there was a group of teens...one with a guitar...at one of the tables....and they were singing quite professionally...I figure they may have been a theater group. It just was an interesting day all around. The drive to the beach was even nice...unharvested green forest for a change....probably a state park, but not sure. Warm sunshine and ocean...all so nice.
