Tuesday:
Evergreen Aviation Museum/Spruce Goose
It was about a 60 mile drive, but worth the effort...especially to see the Spruce Goose. As you can see from the pictures, this plane is huge and dwarfed every other aircraft in the building.  In fact, there was no vantage point where either of us could get the whole plane in the picture!  I posted the tail because you can see there's a B17 tucked under it's wing.  You can also go inside the Spruce Goose...photo below.  We were told the story of it's origin and learned the plane isn't made of spruce but a combination of woods....and that it's wing span was more than that of a football field.  Our guide was an easy listen...he was a retired air craft inspector for the military.  This was more than 'a' museum...it was a complex of first class buildings, even including a Water Park complete with an actual 747 anchored on the roof from which you could slide down into the water park!
