FLYWHEELERS:

Today we ran over to the Florida Flywheelers, not far from here.  You'll see by the photos below that the Flywheelers is to the guys as a big city mall is to us gals...a serious shopping opportunity.  It's a huge gathering of working antique farm machinery, flea market items (much of which I suspect are reject items from past flea markets....decades back) and fair food.  There is a mock village on one end to see how things were done in 'the good ol' days' and generally a free for all frenzie of golf carts, bikes, people walking with canes, people walking without canes, Hoverounds, dogs galore, tractors and an occasional antique car parade.  The cadance is...walk two steps...move over for a few golf carts...one more step....jump back to let a biker go through...three steps and recover from a pot hole...etc.

Strangely enough, it grows on you though.  The humanity and shopping seem to go on and on....you spend your time saying...oh look at that...can you believe that...and I haven't seen one of these in years!  We were both grateful to hop a tram to take us to the parking lot, which ended up slowly meandering through the whole show again for 45 minutes (Stan thouroughly enjoyed this additional overview of Guyville).  We had to laugh, because we ended up exactly where we got on.  Quick learners, we double checked the destination of the next tram which took us (mercifully) to our Jeep.  We had a little lunch at Gloria's Restaurant, in Bowling Green, and are now relaxing in our (much appreciated) dust free and relatively quiet environment.

True, you fight dust and overcrowding, ceaseless noise and uneven terrain (understatement) but somehow it all blends into "an experience".  I guess the best part is, you get to experience it all and chat about it with someone you enjoy being with.
