TRAVELING DAY:
Well...it wasn't "just a traveling day". A fellow camper told us of a scenic route that would only add about 20 miles. We "took the road less traveled" and were so glad we did...it was quite pleasant. We anticipated pulling over for lunch at a little rest area which happened to be a monument to Tom Mix (1880-1940) whom Stan said was a cowboy/actor in the silent film days. We knew the area was up ahead, but ran right by it, so Stan took advantage of a little extra space at a pullover and made a u-turn on this two lane highway! Now if you know much about 38' rigs with a Jeep tow, you know he needed lots more room than this situation afforded him...so he took down some desert bushes and were praying we didn't get stuck in the recently rained on sandy soil. You could smell the cactus and other desert plants getting dragged along as we left some impressive ruts! I told Stan, that move brought a flashback of Desi and Luci's Road Trip.
US 60 was eye candy, as we approached the city of Goodyear, AZ. We guessed there were at least twenty miles of beautifully landscaped roadway on entry to this city. Photos below.
The weather today? A little snow, sleet, hail in the higher altitudes and then plenty of sunshine as we leveled out! We are staying at Phoenix Destiny Resorts, Goodyear, AZ, within 10 miles of Phoenix.
Deuteronomy 8:6-7 says: "...The Lord, your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, and of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills." He has brought us into a land of such abundance, a land of goodness. God loves us so much, we can do nothing but love Him back. This is the heart of true faith. (Excerpt from today's The Daily Buzz)
