Tuesday:
RIVERWALK/SAN ANTONIO, TX
One of my favorite tourist places to just kick back and enjoy the atmosphere.....The Riverwalk.
www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com There were so many Kodak moments....we'll post half of them tonight and more tomorrow if there's time. Scroll down below.
We took some pictures around the Alamo, but neither of us was liking that lonnnggg line to go inside. I think we're the happier for passing that up.
We had a quick sandwich at Subway. Then...Stan suggested that I have a little shopping time at Macy's, which is adjacent to Riverwalk, and trust me...he didn't have to mention that twice!
It was such a pleasant day. The temps were great and even though it was getting more crowded by noon, the atmosphere stayed relaxed and pleasant. My memories of The Riverwalk from 2008 were happy and I wasn't dissappointed on our return. We learned today that it's growing...in fact, they have added two more miles to it! We didn't walk all 8 miles today though!
We are preparing to head out early in the morning. Tomorrow will be a transition from the bustling city of San Antonio to spare desert terrain. Ft. Stockton is our goal. We've camped there before and I remember there isn't much there to see or do...tumbleweeds and such. It's called "An Oasis in the Desert".
