TRAVELING DAY:
We arrived at Ft. Stockton RV Park www.ftstocktonrvpark.com this afternoon. It was a peaceful traveling day....no accidents along the way....traffic was as we expected...sparse....and no rain...barely drizzled for a while....and the sun is shinning now. There's something about the dry air here that I like. Can't explain it. But then, it is in the 70s. We are now in some wide open country. You can see for miles and miles and miles. As usual...photos below.
Evidently, the choice of restaurants out here affords this park confidence to create it's own. I've mentioned that many times to Stan....what a golden opportunity to run a restaurant at some of these more remote parks. Torrey Oaks, our winter park, does a lot of meals, but this place tonight, had an actual restaurant format with menu and it seemed to be working for them. They had about eight tables and a homey little kitchen. There were six meals offered...the menu doesn't change. There were three people working and they treated you like you were a guest in their home. It was a fun dining experience. Stan recommends the pork ribs, which were slow cooked all day. Dessert included.
