Thursday:
Day Trip:  Balboa Park/San Diego,CA
Late this morning we packed a little lunch and headed out down the Pacific Coast to Balboa Park in San Diego. www.balboapark.org
Our first stop...a donut shop....photos. 
Second stop...we pulled over for 'picnic' lunch right by the ocean...we decided to eat in the car with the window down (to hear the ocean roar) since there was a chilly ocean breeze blowing. 
Third stop...Balboa Park.  We walked the park and checked out a couple of their museums. As we were returning to the parking lot, although we hadn't planned on doing this, we talked ourselves into biking the park.  We both agreed it turned out to be one of the highlights of our day's road trip...and what gorgeous weather we had for a ride around the grounds!  A memorable experience.

We drove to Greg and Anja's for the evening where we enjoyed a delicious beef stir fry Anja had prepared for us! We all kicked back and relaxed for a while as we chatted about the days events.  Since their business is closed for the Easter holiday, Greg talked about some tentative plans he has for us all to do some sightseeing tomorrow!  Nothing like a guided tour by two people who know the area well. 

There are so many big hills in southern California...we enjoyed the view on the drive home, overlooking the city at night...I think it kind of sparkles.
