Saturday:
Beluga Lookout Lodge & RV Park/Kenai/Alaska
It was a terrific drive today...lots of scenic pullovers...the traffic was thick....the weather clear and the roads were pretty good.   We arrived here at Kenai this afternoon and it seems to be basically First Nation tribal territory and a fishing town of about 7000 population. The RV park offers an amazing cliff's edge overview of Cook Bay....complete with park benchs. Their claim to fame is that Beluga Whales can be viewed here (hence the name of the park) and people are constantly out there checking the horizon for a gander at one. Evidently the whales arrive between the tides.  I could just sit and watch the water for long periods of time...I think it's a good mental health thing.  Eagles are abundant here too.  One flew right above us tonight!  Other campers told us they have seen a number of them today, too.
As usual, photos under Alaska on right.
