Tok RV Village/Tok/Alaska
We drove separately for 80 miles through more mountainous terrain to Tok, Alaska. The weather was drizzly and the drive was mostly through burned and charred forest, so the views were not particularly pleasant today. The fun news is that Stan watched a moose mom and her two calves cross the highway right in front of the RV on today's drive!
When we arrived at Tok, we were on a mission to get the hitch/receiver repaired. We pulled into Willard’s Garage first thing...not knowing what to expect. We easily could have heard “it will take days to get the parts ordered and more time to get it fixed”…but instead…they began work on it as soon as possible! Long story short ...we are back in business now with a new hitch/receiver. They said they've fixed about 200 of these hitches and commonly the tow vehicle ends up in the ditch when it detaches...'the ditch' in this case would have been 'a very steep mountain'! Thank you Lord!
.
They have a nice 'polished' place to eat near the campground with the unlikely name of Fast Eddies Restaurant, and we had a celebration meal. Stan hung around the repair guys all day and now he is on his back under the RV, installing the tow bar back onto the new receiver. It was a long day, but a productive one.

For you gentlemen….I posted a photo of Stan showing the broken piece. And for the entertainment of all, I have a couple of pictures of Willard’s business establishment….a welding repair shop....Alaska style. Truly nice guys who knew their stuff and we applaud them for getting us out of a jam so quickly. Happy ending.
.Photos on right under Alaska.
