Deer Park RV Campground/Buffalo /Wyoming
Little Bighorn National Battlefield/(Custer’s Last Stand)We made room for a few hours at this historic National Park on our way to Buffalo today and it proved to be an interesting choice for us both. There was an equal mix of Native American Rangers and non/Native American Rangers manning this park. The prevailing message of this park was about lasting peace between the nations. There were a lot of Native Americans touring there. The tragic story was related to us in film and then by a Park Ranger that had researched deeper than the trite surface story we’ve heard as a history lesson. He talked for about an hour relating battle details and interesting tidbits of interesting historic facts. It seemed quite real to us as he pointed to the actual location as he told how the actual events unfolded.
