Monday:
Johnson's of St. Mary/St. Mary/Montana
As we drove away from our campground in Canada this morning, we read the sign "Olympic Park" with the official insignia, right next door. We knew the games were held in Calgary years ago, but didn't realize that the location was that close to our campground or we would have driven over to it. We had noticed huge slide like structures and assumed they were probably winter ski jumps...but couldn't figure out the ski lifts running constantly in the summer. Oh well...opportunity missed...it happens.
As you can see, we are now happily back in the states! Border check went very smoothly again. Our (US) wifi connection obviously doesn't work in Canada. Having dependable wifi in the RV makes posting so much more comfortable than juggling the lap top on our knees while on a bench outside the campground office while doing battle with the sun and mosquitoes simultaneously. Phone connection will come as we get to more populated areas soon.
The terrain changed from super flat prairie to mountains again. Tonight we are staying at the entrance of Glacier National Park. We ate at a restaurant on premises and then came back here to sit outside in the lovely cool breeze with a cup of tea/coffee and watch the sun set. As you know, they call this "Big Sky Country" which explains the head photo. It was not a particularly colorful sunset, but I thought it was dramatic nonetheless.
Photos are under Alberta/BC/Yukon/Canada on the right since all but 20 miles of our drive was still in Canada today.
