Monday:
Talkeetna Camper Park/Talkeetna/Alaska
We had about a 160 mile drive on The Park Highway (they name...not number....their hwys in Alaska)  It was an uneventful trip...the drive was under overcast skies and there were lots of frost heaves, which are like speed bumps (from perpetually frozen ground).  When you are at highway speeds, they are interesting to say the least.

We ate at The Roadhouse uptown Talkeetna.  Stan tried their Carribou and said it tasted a bit like sausage.  The head photo today was taken just as we left town.  Often, you see dogs quietly roaming free around these towns.  They are just part of the backdrop of the northern hemisphere, it seems.  If you can see the sign on the restaurant's door, it reads "Rules...No Dogs".   We decided to look around this little tourist village of Talkeetna...and we found it is all personality.  Today's photos didn't scratch the surface.  The only wildlife we saw today was a small goat with a bright pink collar standing on the passenger seat of a truck, while the owners, evidently, were eating in the restaurant there.  Hope you enjoy today's pictures as much as we enjoyed visiting this rustic place.
Photos on right under Alaska.
