Monday:
Homer Spit Campground/Homer/Alaska
This morning, before we left Kenai, we had driven uptown in the Jeep on an errand. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a moose walking straight to our car. We were both mesmerized as we watched her slowly walk right by the Jeep and continue on downtown. You just gotta love this place!
Our drive to Homer was shorter than average and we had good traveling roads. The weather today was overcast with a chilling wind. There were not many interesting picture opportunities on the drive, but now that we're here, I think the fun will begin. Homer is listed as having the world's best halibut fishing. It's definitely a sea-faring tourist town.
And as if the moose wasn't entertaining enough, as we drove into Homer Spit, we saw three Bald Eagles fly right by our moving RV and once we were parked, a fourth flew right past our parked RV windshield, so we had a banner wildlife day.
I can tell already Homer promises to be a fun location. I am eager to see what it holds tomorrow.
